Overview
The client needed to promote new digital habits among its employees. The main challenge was to strike a balance between education and entertainment, in order to encourage the adoption of responsible digital practices without coming across as boring or overly didactic.
The client also wanted to ensure that these new habits were in line with the company’s values of environmental and social sustainability: it was therefore necessary to develop useful and informative activities and content that would also inspire users to reflect on their own environmental impact and make more informed choices.
To tackle this challenge, we chose the metaphor of the beehive—a symbol of cooperation and productivity with which everyone can identify. The project included a engagement plan, enriched by a series of monthly activities and challenges focused on digital technology and sustainability: each month, users were invited to participate in a new challenge, designed to educate and engage them in a fun way.
To monitor the project’s effectiveness, we implemented a behavioral measurement strategy based on Viva Insights, which allowed us to collect data on user behavior and adapt our activities based on the feedback we received, ensuring continuous improvement and a high level of engagement.


Solution
We have created a gamified and sustainable experience based on the metaphor of the beehive, incorporating three key elements. Creative Communication: conceptualization and guidance in communicating the initiative, using engaging language and storytelling that makes new digital habits appealing.
Data & Analytics: Design of an analytics system based on Viva Insights to measure the initiative’s effectiveness, featuring a custom dashboard that tracks over 20 behavioral KPIs. Tech Engine: Implementation of our hi! Platform solution to orchestrate challenges, content, and gamification mechanics throughout the six-month period.
The result is a program that combines training and entertainment, aligns new habits with environmental and social sustainability values, and maintains a high level of engagement among white- and blue-collar workers.
Results
The project has brought about a widespread cultural shift: the new digital habits have been perceived as desirable rather than imposed, thanks to the balance between education and entertainment.
The beehive metaphor fostered a sense of cooperation and belonging, while continuous measurement on Viva Insights allowed us to adapt our activities based on user feedback, ensuring constant improvement over the six-month period.
